Overview
The development and construction process in Charleston involves multiple departments and divisions of the city and follows numerous city, state, and federal requirements.This website was created to assist developers with the plans review and permitting process. Its primary goal is to answer questions relating to the process and aid with timely review of plans for all construction and property development within the City.
The City also has a Customer Service Coordinator (CSC) who will act as a liaison between city departments, contractors, architects, engineers, and property owners. The CSC will utilize the BluePrince software to track all plans and review comments and recommendations made by city departments. At times during the process you may need to talk to specific departments. The CSC can refer you to the appropriate person.
