Planning Overview
Extremely important to the mission of the Department of Planning and Neighborhoods, the Century V City Plan presents both a plan for today and five areas of emphasis for the future.The Century V City Plan is a working document for the citizens of the City of Charleston. This City Plan presents a picture of the City today and recommends five areas of emphasis for the future. The document analyzes the community's growth in terms of the physical place that is Charleston. The plan then recommends steps to make the physical place better in the future and ensure that the quality of life in Charleston improves as the community grows and changes. The City Plan will become more detailed over time as the City studies specific issues and areas in more detail. Future plans and workshops conducted by the City will represent additions to the Century V City Plan.
