All participants will have the opportunity to make their own clover potter and then discuss the myth on how St. Patrick chased the snakes from Ireland. A Day For Ducks @ Hampton Park
Saturday, April 24, 2010; 10-11:30am - Join a City of Charleston naturalist for a morning to learn about this specialized bird in the waterfowl family. Participants will get a chance to live a day in the life of a duck, play in a duck challenge game, and participate in a bird beak activity. Free.
Kid’s Island Exploration @ Bellinger Island (Daniel Is.)
Saturday, May 1, 2010; 9:30 – 11am - Join us at Bellinger Island to explore three different habitats! We will take a closer look at maritime forests, tidal creeks, and salt marshes while concentrating on living creatures. Activities will include viewing items with magnifying glasses, making a nature sketch, playing a predator/prey game, and others. This program is geared to kids between 5 and 10 years old. Free.
Shark Study @ Demetre Park (formerly Sunrise Park)
Saturday, May 15, 2010; 10-11:30am - Join us at Sunrise Park on James Island to investigate sharks and their living habits. What is the largest shark in the world? Which sharks are the most aggressive? How do sharks hunt? These and many other questions will be answered for you during this outdoor excursion! Any kids in

Huck Finn Fishing Festival @ Colonial Lake
Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Come test your fishing skills and luck at Colonial Lake with the Huck Finn Fishing Festival! This festival is open to kids between the ages of 4 and 12 and costs $3.00/fisherkid! Awards will be given to the top finishers in each age group (4-6, 7-9, 10-12). Other prizes will be awarded during a raffle at the end of the event. Registration begins at 8:30am and the fishing is between 9-11 am. Awards and raffle take place from 11am -12pm.
