How do I get to Charleston Police Headquarters?

Charleston Police Headquarters is located on the Charleston Peninsula at 180 Lockwood Blvd. We are across from Joe Riley Baseball Stadium and Brittlebank Park along the Ashley River. Entering the Parking lot you will see the new Greenberg Municipal Building in front (Court/DMV/Traffic and Transportation) . The Police Headquarters is the rear building. Full-time access is via Stairs and Handicap Accessible Ramp on the South side, stairs between the buildings on the North side, or during business hours only, through the Greenberg building’s lobby.

THERE IS NO PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE POLICE STATION, COURT, DMV, OR T&T FROM THE REAR OF POLICE HEADQUARTERS. THIS IS SECURE POLICE VEHICLE PARKING.

DIRECTIONS:

From DOWNTOWN - Travel West to Lockwood Blvd, Turn North and go to the end of Lockwood. The Police Station and Municipal Complex will be on your right. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.

From UPPER PENINSULA WESTERN SIDE – Travel south on Rutledge Avenue (or adjacent streets) to Fishburne St. Turn Right (West) and travel all the way to the end. Entrance is opposite the gates of Riley Stadium. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.

From UPPER PENINSULA, EASTERN SIDE – Travel south on King St. or Meeting St. to Spring St., Turn Right. Move into the right lane, follow all the way across the peninsula to the last traffic light (Lockwood Blvd.) and turn Right (North). At the end, Police Headquarters will be on your right. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.


From JAMES ISLAND - Take the James Island Connector (Hwy 30) East to the "Lockwood - North" exit, Follow Lockwood until it ends. The Headquarters will be on your right.PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.

From JOHNS ISLAND - Take Maybank Highway EAST (Hwy 700) to Folly Rd. Turn Left (North) onto Folly Rd., get in Right Lanes. Veer Right staying on Folly Rd., crossing the Ashley River Bridge.Get in the Third Lane from Center which takes you down to a stop-light at Lockwood and Bee Street. Turn Left (North) and follow to the end. Headquarters will be on your right. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.


From WEST ASHLEY - Take US 17 Northbound (Savannah Hwy) or SC 61 Southbound (Ashley River Rd./St. Andrews Blvd) across the Ashley River Bridge. Get in the Third Lane from Center which takes you down to a stop-light at Lockwood and Bee Street. Turn Left (North) and follow to the end. Headquarters will be on your right. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.


From DANIEL ISLAND or MT. PLEASANT – Take US 17 South across the new Ravenel Bridge. Follow the signs to US 17 South which will place you on the "Crosstown". Move to the right lane, follow all the way across the peninsula, to the last traffic light (Lockwood Blvd.) and turn North. At the end, Police Headquarters will be on your right. PARK IN FRONT or AT EITHER END, NOT IN THE REAR.
