How do I reserve a park for an event?
Please note: Prior to filling out the permit, you must contact the Recreation Department at (843) 724-7327 to verify the date is available. Print out the permit application and mail it to 823 Meeting Street - Charleston, SC 29403. Once mailed or delivered, the permit is not yet approved, only applied for.
Steps to Reserve a City of Charleston Park or Facility:
Permits are subject to approval. If your event request is for a street blockage or parade, you will need additional permits from Traffic and Transportation, 724-7368, and the Charleston Police Department, 577-7434. These permits may be completed at our office as well. Any event that expects a large crowd, impact on neighborhood, or amplified sound is required to have a special event permit as well. Allow a few weeks for this process.
Fees for the permit are based on the complexity of the event.
