City of Charleston Department of Recreation Volunteer Josh Tutterow was awarded the South Carolina Athletic Programs Volunteer of the Year Award at the annual SCAP banquet 12/15/08 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Department of Recreation has a need for a variety of volunteers in the area of youth sports. This includes help with coaching, field supervision and other important duties in which volunteers are essential.

The Adult Sports Division offers softball, flag football, basketball, volleyball and soccer leagues for the young at heart. Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions.

The City of Charleston's Aquatics Department maintains 2 year round pools and 2 summer pools along with a host of swimming programs and activities. Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities.
