2009 Clean Cities Sweep
Jan 6, 2009

Thousands of volunteers from the community joined forces to clean and beautify our city. Activities included landscaping projects, recycling drives, and litter cleanups.

From April 19-26 2009 groups collected over 29 tons of litter and debris! An additional 4,600 pounds of recycling was collected and 543 new plants were planted. This year’s event hosted over 2,900 volunteers adding up to over 29,900 volunteer hours.

Keep Charleston Beautiful would like to thank everyone for the awesome work and participation in this year’s event. We look forward to working with you all again next year for 2010 Clean Cities Sweep!
