Nuts about Nature Camp
Teaching Staff
During the spring and fall, the Environmental Education Division focuses on the tri-county schools. The programs that we offer include five field trips (Wild Wetlands, Beach Day, Pluff’n’Stuff, Forest Factors and Treeology) and five in-house programs (Reptiles of the Low Country, Marine Touch Tank, Gator Tales, Insects, and Terrific Turtles.) All of these programs provide an interactive and educational experience that the kids and teachers will not soon forget!
When summer rolls around, it is time for the Nuts About Nature” Summer Camp. This fun summer camp is geared towards kids between the ages of five through eleven and runs for ten exciting weeks! Each week focuses on a different topic including wetlands, oceans, reptiles, and other environmental subjects. Along with traveling on one or two field trips each week, the kids also participate in arts and crafts, games, and other activities!
In addition to these programs, the Environmental Educational Division participates with other events including the Earth Day Festival, International Migratory Bird Day Festival, and Park Day on Daniel Island. If you would like to know more about what we offer, please call 965-4002!
