Department of Recreation City-Wide Special Events

The City of Charleston Department of Recreation hosts four annual City-wide special events designed to bring the citizens of Charleston together in a festival-style environment. These events are primarily designed for children 4 - 12 years old.

GIRLS PLAY - 2010 date coming soon!
Hampton Park 9am
Run to raise scholarships for girls to play sports! A portion of the race proceed will create scholarships for girls to play sports in the city of Charleston. Open to all ages!

EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA- 2010 date coming soon!
Bring your children (ages 1-12) to Hampton Park every year on the Saturday before Easter, from 11 - 1pm for a visit from the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, activity stations, games, prizes, jump castles, snacks, refreshments, and more. This holiday outdoor event is open to the public at large, and free of cost.

CELEBRATION OF SUMMER - 2010 date coming soon!
This outdoor event invites CHARLESTON AREA CAMPS to celebrate the end of summer camp with a themed partyat Hampton Park 10a-1p. Call (843) 724-7336 to register your CAMP. Cost: Free
